Zuhr and Hürzeler operate on camera — ten microsurgery films on grafts, recession coverage, sockets and implant soft tissue
Otto Zuhr and Markus Hürzeler perform and narrate the procedures from their textbook on plastic-esthetic periodontal and implant surgery in Minimally Invasive Microsurgery for Periodontal & Implant Esthetics. Ten films, 7 h 40 min in all, show graft harvesting, tunnel and flap techniques for single and multiple recessions, crown lengthening, papilla and pontic-site augmentation, ridge preservation, bone reconstruction with simultaneous implants and a modified roll flap.
- 10surgical films
- 7 h 40 minof video
- 27procedures shown
What you’ll be able to do
- Harvest connective tissue, thick mucosal and block bone grafts from palate, tuberosity and mandibular angle
- Cover single and multiple recessions with coronally advanced, double lateral and modified tunnel techniques
- Choose between gingivectomy with or without ostectomy for esthetic crown lengthening
- Thicken papillae and pontic sites with the pouch and inlay techniques
- Preserve the ridge after extraction, including the socket seal technique
- Rebuild horizontal and vertical defects during implant placement with the double-layer and cortical plate methods
Inside the course
Grafts and gingival surgery
The first films establish the donor-site routine, then apply it: incision-free tunnel augmentation of thin gingiva, three approaches for an isolated recession, and CAF with enamel matrix proteins or tunnelling for multiple defects.
Contours and papillae
External gingivectomy with and without bone removal refines the anterior gingival line, and a tuberosity graft slid through a tunnel adds horizontal volume where a papilla has flattened.
Sites for bridges and implants
Ridge prophylaxis is shown for implant crowns, implant bridges and staged cases. Pontic areas receive soft tissue through a modified pouch or an inlay graft under a palatal island flap, and two films combine bone reconstruction or a roll flap with implant placement and provisional abutment delivery.

Before you buy
Is there theory, or only surgery?
The films are surgical demonstrations with running commentary on technique and sequence; the underlying theory lives in the authors’ book, which is not included.
Why does the product mention 20 lessons but list ten films?
The ten films are delivered as 20 video parts; the listing above groups them by film.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
