MSKCC Cardio-Oncology Symposium 2026 — protecting the heart through cancer care
The MSKCC Cardio-Oncology Symposium 2026 was held by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on 21–22 May 2026 at the Zuckerman Research Center in New York. Its 42 talks from 34 oncologists and cardiologists — including Alexander Lyon, Saro Armenian, Paaladinesh Thavendiranathan and Anju Nohria — pair each cancer’s treatment with its cardiac consequences: ICI myocarditis, CAR-T and transplant, lung, prostate and breast therapies, amyloidosis, thrombosis and stroke, imaging, radiation injury, cardioprotection and survivorship.

What you’ll be able to do
- Recognise and treat ICI myocarditis, including second-line immunosuppression
- Stratify cardiovascular risk before anthracyclines, anti-HER2, hormonal and T-cell therapies
- Use echo, CMR and biomarkers for early detection
- Manage AF, VTE and stroke in patients with cancer
- Apply permissive cardiotoxicity and cardioprotection, including dexrazoxane and exercise
- Plan follow-up for survivors of childhood cancer
Inside the course
Immunotherapy and solid tumours
The evolving field, antitumour immunity, ICI toxicity and a myocarditis case spectrum; then lung, prostate and breast cancer — each with an oncologist’s treatment primer followed by a cardiologist’s approach to its toxicity — and training pathways in cardio-oncology.
MSKCC Cardio-Oncology Symposium 2026 haematology and amyloid sessions
Stem cell and bone marrow transplant, CAR-T and bispecifics and their cardiac effects, myeloma and AL amyloid, diagnosing cardiac amyloidosis and managing TTR disease, then cancer-associated VTE and stroke.
Precision cardio-oncology and imaging
Defining risk and surveillance, a decade of key trials, precision echo and CMR, biomarkers, MR of cardiac masses, AF in cancer and device management during radiation and MRI.
Radiation, survivorship and complex care
Radiation-induced heart disease and ways to limit it, late cardiotoxicity, clonal hematopoiesis, pharmacologic and exercise cardioprotection, equity, the ESC guidelines, advanced heart failure, 5FU chest pain, interventions during active cancer and three closing cases.
