Mayo Clinic Electrophysiology Board Review 2024 — mechanisms, mapping and devices
The Mayo Clinic Electrophysiology Board Review 2024, released on 26 November 2024, covers the whole of clinical electrophysiology in 31 lectures from 23 Mayo Clinic faculty: arrhythmia mechanisms, anatomy and channelopathies, atrial, supraventricular and ventricular ablation, syncope, and pacing, ICD, CRT and extraction. It is designed for graduating EP fellows facing the boards and for electrophysiologists preparing to recertify.
- 31lectures
- 23Mayo Clinic faculty
- 11supplemental lectures
- Nov 2024release
What you’ll be able to do
- Explain arrhythmogenesis from myocardial excitability and the action potential
- Build a diagnostic and treatment plan for the channelopathy patient
- Plan mapping and ablation for atrial flutter, accessory pathways, AVNRT and VT
- Read complex intracardiac and device tracings with confidence
- Manage arrhythmias in special settings — congenital disease, pregnancy, LVAD, athletes, sarcoid
- Choose between leadless, physiologic and conventional pacing, ICD and CRT
Inside the course
Physiology, anatomy and the atria
Christopher McLeod opens on basic arrhythmogenesis and Michael Ackerman on channelopathies for the EP boards, before Samuel Asirvatham’s two-part anatomy series for the electrophysiologist. Atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter mapping and ablation follow.
Mayo Clinic Electrophysiology Board Review 2024 SVT and VT
Signal processing and ablation biophysics lead into accessory pathways, AVNRT and complex SVT cases. The ventricular block covers entrainment and ablation of VT in structural heart disease, complex VT cases with William Stevenson, and the VT syndromes: ARVD, outflow tract, bundle branch re-entry and idiopathic LV VT.
Bradycardia, syncope and devices
Two device workshops, syncope diagnosis and atrial arrhythmia cases sit alongside traditional and leadless pacemakers, the principles of ICD and CRT, and device extraction.
Supplemental lectures
Eleven additional talks cover lead extraction, antiarrhythmic pharmacology, special circumstances from pregnancy to HCM, ablation complications, emerging devices, the action potential, non-ablative AF therapy, the rarer channelopathies, intracardiac echo, left atrial appendage implants and physiologic pacing.
