Implant masterclass with ten NYU, Harvard and Italian faculty: soft tissue, vertical ridge, sinus lift and biologics
Ten clinicians from New York, Boston and leading Italian universities share the eight long lectures of NYU & DentalLeaders: Advanced Implantology MasterClass, roughly 18 hours in total. Among the speakers are Giovanni Zucchelli, Massimo Simion, Marc Nevins, Carlo Monaco, David Kim and Dean Vafiadis, and the topics run from implant position and emergence profile to soft-tissue grafting, vertical augmentation, crestal sinus elevation and rhPDGF-BB.

What you’ll be able to do
- Place implants with enough buccal and interproximal bone and aligned crown and fixture axes
- Settle routine prosthetic dilemmas such as cementation, tooth-implant connection and implant numbers
- Plan emergence profile and ridge preservation from the final restoration backwards
- Rebuild deficient sites with vertical ridge augmentation and stable membranes
- Lift the sinus through a crestal approach backed by 20 years of data
- Graft connective tissue around teeth and implants to cover recessions and thicken mucosa
Inside the course
Aesthetic and prosthetic decision-making
The opening lecture ties implant position, biological width and GBR to aesthetics, speech and function. A second session reviews everyday restorative choices, including overdenture versus fixed full-arch work, smile design, CAD/CAM and occlusion, while a later lecture uses intraoral scanning and guided surgery to plan natural-looking results.
Soft tissue around implants and teeth
Two lectures, close to five hours together, cover diagnosis and surgical augmentation of peri-implant mucosa, flap design, layered connective tissue grafts, immediate versus delayed placement and managing complications.
Bone: vertical and sinus
Vertical reconstruction is taught through scaffold choice, membrane fixation and site-specific mechanics. The sinus lecture condenses two decades of research on crestal elevation, tools and materials, and a final session shows minimally invasive site development combining grafts with recombinant PDGF.
