What’s new in endodontics — anaesthesia, single-file shaping, guided access, retreatment and bioceramic obturation
OHI-S What’s NEW in endodontics from anesthesia to obturation is a nearly twelve-hour update in which several well-known endodontists each take one step of root canal treatment and show what has changed. Expect heat-treated NiTi and simplified single-file shaping, hydraulic single-cone filling with bioceramic sealers, static and dynamic navigation for calcified canals, solvent-free retreatment, internal repair of external resorption, and fresh strategies for numbing hot mandibular molars.

What you’ll be able to do
- Select austenitic or martensitic NiTi files and run a safe reciprocating single-file sequence
- Plan and cut guided access through calcified canals and crowns using static or dynamic navigation
- Remove old fillings and posts and regain apical patency without solvents
- Repair external root resorption from inside the canal with MTA or Biodentine
- Anaesthetise teeth with irreversible pulpitis using intraosseous, intraligamentary and Gow-Gates techniques
- Activate irrigants correctly and handle a hypochlorite accident
Inside the course
Shaping and filling: what’s new in endodontics
Four lessons cover NiTi selection and the evolution of single-file systems, CBCT-guided access and mechanical scouting, curved canals, instrument retrieval, and Schilder-style shaping with downpack or the “Cavit piston” monoblock bioceramic obturation.
Digital and guided endodontics
A dedicated lesson builds the virtual patient from intraoral scans, designs templates with verification windows, chooses drills and compares static with dynamic navigation, including post removal and treatment of pulp canal obliteration through existing restorations.
Retreatment and resorption
One lecturer weighs spot radiographs against CBCT, extraction against retreatment, and shows heat-treated file sequences and two ultrasonic irrigation methods for clearing filling material. Another maps resorption defects on CBCT and restores severely resorbed teeth afterwards.
Anaesthesia and disinfection
The final lessons explain why blocks fail, review ibuprofen and indomethacin premedication data, and cover retromolar infiltration and the dental-dam cuff trick, then irrigant chemistry, concentration and contact time, activation devices and GentleWave.
Built for
- EndodontistsA single catch-up on anaesthesia, navigation, retreatment and irrigation advances.
- General dentists doing root canalsSimplified single-file and single-cone protocols for predictable everyday cases.
- Endodontic residentsCase-based comparison of competing techniques from several lecturers.

Before you buy
Do lessons 2 and 3 repeat each other?
Partly. Lesson 2 is the free introductory lesson and its outline is a subset of Lesson 3, which adds retreatment planning and broken-instrument removal.
Are the lecturers named?
No speaker names are given for individual lessons, and the download size is not stated.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
