Digital smile design with the 3DNA workflow — eight clinicians show how they plan, execute and refine esthetic and implant cases
Eric van Dooren, Florin Cofar, Wael Att, David Norré, Victor Clavijo and three more contributors share their digitally driven restorative thinking in Smilecloud 3DNA. Seven modules with 28 short lessons (9 h 30 min in total) run from the history of smile design and the STAR framework to composites in digital workflows, soft-tissue reconstruction, implant papilla management and the virtual extraction model.

What you’ll be able to do
- Understand how a 3DNA-based design can drive the whole treatment, from mock-up to final restoration
- Combine simultaneous execution with prosthetically guided healing around teeth and implants
- Use composite resins inside a digital workflow for predictable esthetic results
- Apply the STAR concept to organise surgical, therapeutic, esthetic and restorative steps
- Plan soft-tissue reconstruction and papilla preservation in the esthetic zone
Inside the course
From analogue roots to digital design
The opening module looks back at how smile design moved from hand-drawn to digital, compares approaches in East and West three decades apart, and sets out the fundamentals the later clinical stories build on. Module two explains how the 3DNA library alters daily clinical and laboratory work.
Frameworks and case narratives
The STAR concept is presented through several “narratives” from different practices, followed by an iconic case, tips from the chair and a team-based interdisciplinary example. Each lesson is told as a clinical story rather than a step-by-step protocol.
Reconstruction and implants
Advanced lessons deal with restorative frameworks, soft-tissue regeneration, material and technique options for one plan, analogue touches that still matter, implant fundamentals, complex implant cases and the papilla challenge.
Details that change results
The last module introduces VEX, a virtual extraction model, and closes with small refinements the speakers consider decisive for esthetic outcomes.

Before you buy
Will this teach me to operate the Smilecloud software?
Not as a click-by-click tutorial. The lessons are conference-style talks built around concepts and cases, averaging about 20 minutes each.
Do the lesson titles describe their content?
Several have creative titles such as “The Band of Brothers” or “Memory Lane”; the module headings give a better idea of what each covers.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
