Rehabilitating severe tooth wear without cutting teeth — Francesca Vailati’s 3STEP additive method over 25 hours
Francesca Vailati introduced the 3STEP technique in 2005, and Welcome to Additive World is her own account of it: 20 lessons and roughly 25 hours on restoring worn dentitions by adding material rather than removing tooth. Twelve structured lessons cover the ACE classification, photography, consultation, choosing a new vertical dimension, posterior wax-up and the white bite, and palatal veneers; eight recorded live case discussions show the reasoning on real patients.

What you’ll be able to do
- Grade wear and plan complexity with the ACE classification
- Document cases with diagnostic photography that serves the lab and the patient
- Select and test an increase in vertical dimension of occlusion for each patient
- Build posterior contacts from a wax-up using the white bite
- Fabricate and bond palatal veneers to restore anterior guidance
Inside the course
Why additive, and why it is hard
Vailati opens with her philosophy and a literature update arguing against subtractive rehabilitation, then speaks frankly about the mistakes, frustration and learning curve dentists meet when they adopt it.
Diagnosis and the first appointment
Classification of wear, the three-step aesthetic concept, photographic documentation, running the consultation and deciding where to start on a complex case.
The three clinical steps
Setting the new VDO, posterior wax-up and contacts, a control phase with bonded posterior palatal veneers, then anterior contacts with fabrication and bonding of palatal veneers on the front teeth.
Unedited case sessions
Recorded interactive discussions follow patients from evaluation and wax-up through provisional strategy, posterior restoration and anterior finishing, including corrections along the way. Three sessions appear twice: an original run and a re-edited second edition.
Built for
- Restorative dentists seeing erosion and bruxism wearA conservative route that preserves tooth structure in full-mouth cases.
- Prosthodontists weighing crowns against compositesSee where additive protocols can replace or delay subtractive work.
- Clinicians who learn from real casesMore than half the runtime is live case reasoning.

Before you buy
Are the second-edition sessions new cases?
They are re-edited versions of sessions 1–3 with clearer visuals and extra explanation, so roughly 6.5 hours of the total repeats earlier material in improved form.
Is the live footage polished?
The case discussions are deliberately unedited recordings, showing hesitation and correction as well as finished results.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
