Learn exocad by designing real cases — models, wax-ups, crowns, bridges, splints, implant work and full-arch prostheses
Prosthodontists and lab owners Nate Farley and Kent Howell, who design every full-arch case for their practice and laboratory in exocad and learned it without formal training, record their screens in BASIC EXOCAD: Models, Crowns, Splints, Implant Crowns, AOX, & More. Twelve lessons (5 h 13 min) take you through printable models, an anterior wax-up, a night guard, crowns and bridges on teeth, implant crowns and bridges, a complete denture and a maxillary FP1 with a mandibular FP3 design.

What you’ll be able to do
- Generate printable models with the Model Creator — for plain scans, crown dies and implant analogs
- Build a digital wax-up and export a putty matrix for provisionals
- Design a night guard or bite splint with controlled undercuts and a smooth occlusal table
- Set margins and cement gap and refine contacts for crowns and bridges on natural teeth
- Design implant crowns and implant bridges, with or without pink gingiva
- Complete a denture and an FP1/FP3 full-arch design ready for printing or milling
Inside the course
Models and diagnostic design
Short lessons show how to import scans, choose teeth, add support pins and labels, and adjust gingival masks and ledges. A six-unit anterior wax-up teaches alignment, contact refinement and smoothing before saving an STL.
Tooth-borne restorations and appliances
Undercut settings and border drawing for guards come first, followed by a two-crown anterior case and a 38-minute bridge lesson on abutment selection, connector shape and pontic design.
Implants and the full arch
An implant crown on a lower molar, implant bridges with teeth only or with prosthetic gingiva, and a complete denture built with general tools rather than the denture module lead to an 81-minute upper FP1 and lower FP3 design.
