Every major way to record centric relation — wax, Lucia jig, Dawson, neuromuscular and digital — compared by five clinicians
Five lecturers from Poland, Canada, Brazil and France set the competing schools side by side in Centric Relation: All Methods of Registration and Clinical Application: Lukas Lassmann, Mike Racich, Marcelo Matos, Kamil Stefanski and Jean-Daniel Orthlieb. Nine lessons totalling about 11 hours trace the concept from mechanical hinge axis to biological model, demonstrate analogue and digital recording protocols, and show how the chosen jaw position shapes prosthodontic, orthodontic and tooth-wear plans.

What you’ll be able to do
- Explain how definitions of centric relation have shifted and why that matters clinically
- Record CR with hard wax, a Lucia jig or the Dawson manoeuvre and verify it with a split cast
- Understand the neuromuscular approach, its equipment and its orthotic phase
- Use intraoral scans and digital mounting to plan in the arc of closure
- Decide which condylar position to aim for in a given prosthodontic or orthodontic case
Inside the course
Terms, history and biology
Opening lessons define centric relation, centric occlusion and vertical dimension, then examine imaging of the joint, condyle position from a biological angle and the debate between tooth-based and orthopaedic occlusion.
Recording techniques head to head
Separate lessons demonstrate wax-plate registration with an anterior stop, the neuromuscular workflow with habitual versus physiologic trajectories, the Dawson method with deprogramming and mountings, and a detailed Lucia jig session on bite materials, facebow transfer and model analysis.
Digital and interdisciplinary planning
Intraoral-scan bites, aligner cases, Stop&Go hybrid treatment, digital mounting and surgical simulation sit alongside CBCT-guided torque selection, suture maturity and expansion with the Silesia expander.
Choosing a position in practice
The final and longest clinical lesson questions centric slide, “long centric”, joint loading, forward and neuromuscular positions, and whether a non-ideal condyle position really leads to TMD.
Built for
- Prosthodontists planning full rehabilitationsA reasoned choice of reference position before changing the occlusion.
- OrthodontistsGuidance on CR in aligner, surgical and expansion cases.
- Dental technicians and general dentistsA clear view of mounting protocols and what each record can deliver.

Before you buy
Does the course promote one single philosophy?
No. Each lecturer presents his own concept, so you get contrasting views rather than a single protocol.
Which lecturer teaches which lesson?
The lesson list does not assign lecturers to individual lessons; only the topic outline of each lesson is given below.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
