Corky Willhite’s anterior composite method: templates, tints, opaquers and invisible margins in 14 lessons
In Cosmedent Composite Bonding: “The Ultimate Esthetics”, cosmetic dentist Corky Willhite teaches his layering system through 14 lessons and a PDF handout, just over nine hours in all. Lectures alternate with bench exercises on Class III, IV and V restorations, diastema closure and a dark central incisor, ending with surface characterisation and case presentation.

What you’ll be able to do
- Follow a 13-step layering protocol that adapts to most anterior situations
- Trim, load and seat a palatal template for predictable lingual shells
- Shape primary and secondary anatomy with the mylar pull technique and correct line angles
- Create incisal translucency and mask a dark tooth using tints and opaquers
- Add craze lines, hypocalcification and white striations for lifelike surfaces
Inside the course
Materials and a repeatable sequence
Willhite compares composite with porcelain, reviews material categories and sets out his step sequence, covering preparation design, bubble-free placement and layer thickness before any hands-on work begins.
Class IV and diastema exercises
Several sessions build and refine a Class IV on typodont teeth: template use, proximal contacts, contouring and polishing, then a large lateral incisor fracture and a diastema closure with inner-sculpting for proper line angles.
Colour control and repairs
Later lessons show how to hide margins, make incisal halos with tints, and change the shade of a single dark central with opaque and dentin layers. Class V restorations, quick repairs, maintenance and occlusion when lengthening teeth are also covered.
Finishing touches and the practice side
The final lesson demonstrates surface effects and discusses how to present, price and value cosmetic bonding. Willhite is a fellow of the AACD and teaches in the prosthodontics department at LSU.
