Clinical photography, intraoral radiographs, CBCT and TMJ MRI in one 59-lesson imaging programme
Seven teachers — Jeffery Price, Ricardo Mitrani, Steve Ratcliff, Jim McKee, Gary DeWood, Kevin Kwiecien and Kim Miller — share the teaching in Dental Imaging Mastery: Photos, Radiographs & Beyond. Over six modules and about 12 hours you move from camera choice and flash settings to photo-based treatment planning, sharper periapicals and bitewings, CBCT ordering decisions and reading joint MRIs. The aim throughout is better diagnosis and clearer conversations with patients.

What you’ll be able to do
- Pick a camera, flash and exposure mode and judge results with the histogram
- Build esthetic and occlusal-plane plans on patient photos using PowerPoint templates
- Decide when a CBCT scan is justified and weigh its radiation dose
- Position film holders and digital sensors for clean periapicals and bitewings, and spot common errors
- Order, read and present a TMJ MRI using the Piper protocol
Inside the course
Photography that earns its place in the operatory
Point-and-shoot versus DSLR, resolution, flash types, manual or aperture priority with TTL, and the settings that matter. Later lessons cover setting up the room, caring for gear and fitting photography into daily routine, then turning those images into treatment plans and patient presentations.
Radiographs and cone beam scans done properly
Criteria for diagnostically acceptable periapical, bitewing and panoramic images, step-by-step use of Rinn kits and digital sensor positioners, and a catalogue of typical mistakes. A shorter block explains CBCT principles, selection criteria and dosimetry for general practice.
Joint imaging and a hygiene detour
The longest module deals with MRI of the temporomandibular joint: why to order it, the Piper protocol, reading software, interpretation and a case of structurally altered joints. A 42-minute module compares ultrasonic and hand instrumentation, which sits outside imaging but is part of the package.
The teaching team
The group spans prosthodontics (Mitrani, Mexico City), restorative dentistry (McKee, Ratcliff, DeWood), practice facilitation (Kwiecien), hygiene coaching (Miller) and oral and maxillofacial radiology (Price, University of Maryland).
Built for
- General dentists starting to document casesCamera basics through to presentation templates in one place.
- Practices adding CBCT or MRI referralsClear guidance on when a scan is worth ordering and how to read it.
- Assistants and hygienists who take radiographsPositioning drills and error lists that lift everyday image quality.

Before you buy
Are some MRI lessons repeated?
Yes. In module 6, titles such as TMJ MRI Basics, the Piper MRI Protocol and Implementing MRI appear more than once, so the unique content is a little shorter than the lesson count suggests.
Does it teach a particular photo-planning program?
Planning lessons use PowerPoint and the EFSB Master and Guide Form templates.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
