A periodontist’s view of regeneration and guided implant placement — Roberto Rossi on GTR, GBR, root coverage and 3D-planned surgery
Roberto Rossi, who teaches on the periodontology master’s at Sapienza University of Rome, covers four linked topics in Guided Bone Regeneration and Guided Implantology. Four lectures of about two hours each deal with periodontal regeneration, bone regeneration around extraction sites and wide defects, fully guided implant surgery with navigation, and mucogingival surgery for recession, all supported by clinical cases.

What you’ll be able to do
- Select cases, grafts and membranes for guided tissue regeneration
- Plan GBR after single or multiple extractions and in wide or aesthetic defects
- Decide between ridge preservation and immediate implants, including the cortical lamina technique
- Run guided implant surgery from 3D planning to provisional and final prosthesis
- Choose among connective tissue graft, free gingival graft and coronally advanced flap for recession
Inside the course
Regenerating periodontal defects
Indications, graft types, biomaterials, the drawbacks of non-resorbable membranes and wound healing factors lead to strategies for anterior aesthetics and the management of generalised aggressive periodontitis.
Bone regeneration biology and technique
Rossi explains bone formation and applies GBR across extraction scenarios and the aesthetic zone, with attention to flap design and soft tissue conditioning before implant placement.
Guided surgery from a periodontal angle
Diagnostic workup, 3D planning of complex cases, a stepwise guided protocol, dynamic navigation systems, provisional restorations with soft tissue shaping, definitive prosthetics and hygiene advice are presented in sequence.
Treating gingival recession
The last lecture covers aetiology, classification, biotype, diagnosis and the factors that predict complete root coverage, then compares the main grafting and flap techniques.

Before you buy
Is this pitched at beginners?
It is presented as advanced training and assumes familiarity with periodontal and implant surgery.
Are procedures filmed or presented as case slides?
Each lecture ends with clinical cases, but the outlines do not promise live surgical video, so expect largely lecture format.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
