Biomimetic indirect restorations — onlays, overlays, veneers and vertical-prep crowns bonded to last
Eight lectures totalling 9 h 22 min make up Indirect Restoration in the Biomimetic Concept, with David Alleman, Andrea Fabianelli, Andras Forster and four colleagues from the biomimetic and Bio-Emulation communities. The programme runs from tooth histology and stress reduction through immediate dentin sealing, deep margin elevation and partial-coverage preparations to vertical crown preps, CAD/CAM composite overlays and layered monolithic zirconia.

What you’ll be able to do
- Analyse biomechanical defects and pick stress-reducing restorative steps
- Apply immediate dentin sealing, resin coating and deep margin elevation before indirect work
- Prepare and bond onlays, overlays, table tops and palatal or occlusal veneers
- Carry out a vertical (feather-edge) crown preparation and its lab stage
- Scan under rubber dam and decide what to mill, print or send to the lab
Inside the course
Philosophy and adhesion
The opening two lessons explain the bio-dome and bio-rim, the dentino-enamel complex and the peripheral seal zone, then the adhesion equation: C-factor, hybrid layer, the bondability hierarchy and step-by-step bonding of e.max, feldspathic ceramic and composite onlays, including luting with heated composite.
Preparations from partial to full coverage
A bio-emulative session contrasts vertical and horizontal margins, bur choice, provisionals, impressions, facebow use and occlusal planes. Two lessons on partial restorations cover build-ups of badly broken teeth, fracture resistance, silanisation, pressed versus milled ceramics and raising vertical dimension in erosion cases.
Digital and lab workflows
Stress-free CAD/CAM composite restorations, digital planning combining photos with DICOM and STL files, emergence profile control, digital provisionals and 3D-printed guides lead into a final lecture on zirconia types, texture and liquid-ceramic layering.
Built for
- Restorative dentistsProtocols for heavily damaged posterior teeth without reaching for a full crown.
- ProsthodontistsVertical preparation, occlusion and full-mouth wear cases in one programme.
- Dental techniciansMaterial selection, ceramic conditioning and monolithic layering from the lab bench.
Curriculum
Before you buy
Are the lessons uniform in length?
No. They range from 37 minutes to almost two hours, and some themes such as IDS and the peripheral seal appear in more than one lecture.
Is there demonstration video or only slides?
Most lessons are lectures with clinical cases; bonding of a composite overlay and a CAD/CAM overlay workflow are shown as step-by-step video.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
