Chris Chang’s orthodontic playbook — TADs with aligners, impactions, asymmetry and non-surgical Class II and III correction
Across 14 lectures and more than 19 hours, Tads And Aligners. Digital Orthodontics.early Treatment. Face Asymmetry walks through the mechanics Chris Chang uses at his Taiwan practice. He covers early interceptive care, extra-alveolar IZC and buccal shelf screws, camouflage of skeletal asymmetry and open bite, impacted canines and incisors in both arches, digital set-ups, and minor surgeries that speed up or refine orthodontic results.

What you’ll be able to do
- Decide which children genuinely need early orthodontic intervention and which can wait
- Correct severe Class II and Class III discrepancies with bite turbos, elastics and extra-alveolar screws
- Combine TADs with aligners for mesialisation, forced eruption and molar uprighting
- Intrude maxillary molars with buccal shelf screws to close mild-to-moderate open bites
- Expose and align impacted teeth using the VISTA and open-window approaches
- Prepare sites for implants and prosthetics through planned tooth movement
Inside the course
Diagnosis before mechanics
Chang opens with a systematic framework for early treatment, then returns to decision making repeatedly: an extraction versus non-extraction table, differential diagnosis of dental, skeletal and functional asymmetry, and separating pseudo from true Class III.
Low-compliance anchorage
Much of the teaching relies on self-ligating Damon Q brackets plus miniscrews placed in the infrazygomatic crest or buccal shelf. The aim is a simple, consistent force system that avoids headgear and functional appliances, including in adults with large overjet.
Aligners and digital planning
Two lectures deal with clear aligners: how to write and revise ClinCheck plans, attachment and elastic tricks, the G6 and Kenji formulas, and where TADs, segmental braces or bite plates turn an unsuitable case into a workable one. Another looks at digital simulation, custom brackets and indirect bonding.

Before you buy
Is this about a particular bracket system?
Yes, the fixed-appliance mechanics are demonstrated with the Damon Q self-ligating system, although the anchorage principles transfer to other brackets.
Does it teach miniscrew insertion?
Direct insertion of buccal shelf screws is covered in the open-bite lecture, and IZC screws are used throughout; it is a lecture course, not hands-on training.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
