Making immediate implants routine: Tomas Linkevicius on biology, depth, molar types A–C and restoring for zero bone loss
Vilnius University professor Tomas Linkevicius, who developed the Zero Bone Loss concepts, argues that placing an implant straight into the socket should be the default choice rather than the exception. Zero Bone Loss Concepts, Immediate implants sets out his case over 13 lessons and about 14 hours: why immediates work biologically, how deep to place them, a three-type classification for molar sockets, restorative details specific to immediates, avoidable complications and four filmed surgeries.

What you’ll be able to do
- Present the clinical advantages of immediate placement — preserved soft tissue, tooth-like profile, faster treatment
- Explain how immediates osseointegrate and keep crestal bone stable
- Set implant depth and primary stability in molar and premolar sockets
- Classify molar sites as type A, B or C and choose implant width accordingly
- Handle the restorative steps unique to immediates and prevent the six common failures
Inside the course
Changing the mindset
Two opening lessons weigh the benefits of immediate placement against the reasons it still carries a risky reputation — outdated teaching, early poor results and technique errors — and address each objection.
Biology and stability
Linkevicius explains integration in a fresh socket, how contour and peri-implant soft tissue develop, and the single factor he considers decisive for success, alongside primary stability and crestal bone levels.
Site by site
Molar lessons answer the depth question he is asked most, then cover grafting, healing abutments, soft tissue grafts and the A/B/C classification, including a defence of very wide implants. Premolars are treated with apical, mesio-distal or combined anchorage.
Restoration, pitfalls and surgery
The restorative lesson deals with protecting the implant channel, impressions for immediates and material choice. Four live procedures follow: an anterior immediate with grafts and a provisional, molar types A and B, and a fully guided five-implant full arch with immediate loading.
Built for

Before you buy
Does it overlap with other Zero Bone Loss courses?
It focuses on immediate placement; other courses in the same concept deal with crestal bone stability more broadly, so some background principles may repeat.
Is the full-arch surgery hand-guided?
No, the All-on-5 case is fully guided with multi-unit abutments and an immediately loaded provisional; the molar cases are hand-guided.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
