Harvard Update in Clinical Cardiology 2024 — three days of practical cardiology from the MGH faculty
Recorded on 16–18 October 2024, Harvard Update in Clinical Cardiology 2024 is the Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital review of the conditions general cardiologists and internists see every week. It moves through 25 topic areas, from coronary disease and heart failure to SCAD, INOCA and heart disease in pregnancy, with case panels and question time woven in. The slide decks come with the videos, so you can annotate as you watch.

What you’ll be able to do
- Use GLP-1 agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors to improve cardiovascular outcomes in patients with diabetes and obesity
- Apply the newer thoracic aortic disease guideline, explained by its writing committee chair, Eric M. Isselbacher
- Weigh transcatheter and structural options for valve disease against conventional surgery
- Manage HFrEF, HFpEF, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiac amyloidosis with current strategies
- Interpret recent clinical trial results and decide what changes on Monday morning
- Discuss where artificial intelligence is starting to enter cardiovascular care
Inside the course
Core outpatient cardiology
Coronary artery disease, dyslipidaemia, hypertension, cardiac biomarkers and peripheral and renal artery disease form the backbone of the programme. The cardiometabolic sessions give particular weight to obesity and diabetes as drivers of risk.
Rhythm, devices and the failing heart
Atrial fibrillation, SVT and ventricular arrhythmias sit alongside heart failure of both phenotypes, cardiomyopathies and pulmonary hypertension. Updates on electrical devices and mechanical circulatory support round out this block.
Harvard Update in Clinical Cardiology 2024 special topics
Faculty tackle cardio-oncology, adult congenital disease, pregnancy, sports cardiology, pericarditis, endocarditis, venous thromboembolism and cardiac critical care. Complex coronary cases in the catheterisation laboratory showcase newer diagnostic and revascularisation techniques.

Is the October 2024 cardiology meeting the newest edition?
No. Harvard runs this update every year, so a later edition may already be available; guideline and trial content here reflects late 2024.
Is there a lecture-by-lecture list with speakers?
Only the topic areas and programme highlights were supplied, not the individual session titles, speaker names, video count or running time.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
