Mayo Clinic Echocardiography Board Review 2025 — from physics to structural heart
The Mayo Clinic Echocardiography Board Review 2025 is the July 2025 edition of Mayo’s echo review, recorded as 59 video sessions with slides from 32 faculty. It follows the National Board of Echocardiography exam from ultrasound physics and chamber quantitation through strain, valve disease, structural intervention and congenital anatomy — then adds case workshops and eleven supplemental lectures that work the Doppler maths step by step.

What you’ll be able to do
- Quantify LV, RV and atrial size and function the way the board exam scores it
- Grade diastolic dysfunction, from the basics to the cases that do not fit the algorithm
- Apply strain imaging to cardio-oncology, cardiomyopathies and valve disease
- Work out stroke volume, valve gradients and pulmonary pressures from Doppler
- Judge severity and cause in native and prosthetic valve disease
- Recognise constriction, tamponade, masses and congenital lesions on sight
Inside the course
Mayo Clinic Echocardiography Board Review 2025 fundamentals
Ten opening sessions set up everything that follows: quantitation of the left and right heart, M-mode for the boards, Doppler and colour flow hemodynamics, TEE with 3D, contrast echo and physics through illustrative cases. Garvan Kane also walks through the NBE exam format so you know what the test rewards.
Function, failure and the pericardium
Strain gets its own block — HFpEF and left atrial strain, cardio-oncology, cardiomyopathies — alongside pulmonary hypertension and cardiac amyloidosis. The heart failure sessions cover dilated cardiomyopathy, transplant, LV assist devices and resynchronization, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and both halves of pericardial disease through constrictive pericarditis.
Valves, structural heart and endocarditis
Each valve lesion has a dedicated lecture, followed by interventional and intraoperative echo, prosthetic valve assessment and infective endocarditis. A hemodynamic workshop with Jae Oh, Jeffrey Geske and William Miranda ties the numbers back to the patient.
Systemic, coronary and congenital disease, then the case room
Echo in pregnancy and systemic disease, stress and diastolic stress testing, the aorta, masses and simple and complex congenital disease close the syllabus. Eight special sessions follow: interesting cases, valve and congenital cases, advanced hemodynamics, a 3D knobology workshop, strain after chemotherapy and point-of-care lung and heart ultrasound.

Before you buy
Which exam does this review target?
It is organised around the National Board of Echocardiography examination and opens with a session on the NBE format itself.
How much echo experience do I need?
Mayo pitches the program at clinicians who already acquire or read echoes; complete beginners will find the pace fast.
Are the physics lectures included?
Yes — four physics lectures plus the Doppler maths sessions sit in the eleven-part supplemental set that comes with the course.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
