Interceptive and fixed orthodontics for children and teens: expansion, Class II and III, and David Suárez’s digital protocols
Spanish orthodontist David Suárez Quintanilla brings three decades of practice to Orthodontics in growing patients, eleven recorded webinars adding up to 26 h 05 min. He covers mixed-dentition appliances, the expansion-versus-extraction decision, low-friction bracket mechanics, Class II and Class III correction, microimplants and his own DSQ digital planning system.

What you’ll be able to do
- Decide between arch expansion and extraction using clear clinical criteria
- Use quad helix, pendulum, palatal bar and skeletal expanders in the mixed dentition
- Classify Class II as maxillary or mandibular and combine fixed and functional appliances in one phase
- Plan Class III camouflage with extractions, elastics or microimplants
- Control friction and torque tooth by tooth with modern alloys such as thermal NiTi, TMA and Gummetal
- Build a digital workflow with 3D set-ups, mock-ups and smile analysis
Inside the course
Early treatment toolkit
A three-hour session reviews removable and functional devices for young patients — Frankel regulators, active plates, De la Rosa and McNamara expanders, bypass archwires and eruption guidance aligners — plus vertical control of deep and open bites.
Fixed appliance mechanics
Several webinars trace a case through alignment, levelling, space closure with and without extractions, torque and finishing, discussing bracket choice, ligature friction and wire sequences along the way.
Skeletal discrepancies
Two long lectures reclassify Class II and III problems, address timing and molar distalisation, and extend to adults: aligner-based multi-technique treatment, low-cost invisible options and patients with TMJ dysfunction. Impacted maxillary canines in adults and intra- and extra-alveolar miniscrews are also covered.
Digital practice and patient communication
Suárez presents integrated 3D diagnosis, his DSQ cephalometric analysis linking occlusion, smile and face, and a talk on neuromarketing and emotional decision-making by orthodontic patients.

Before you buy
Is the programme limited to young patients, as the title suggests?
No. Adult topics such as impacted canines, microimplants and adult Class III treatment appear in the later webinars.
Were these filmed as lectures or live webinars?
They are webinar recordings, so expect a presentation format with slides and clinical case photographs.
Do some themes come up more than once?
Yes. Expansion versus extraction, smile design and biomechanics recur in several sessions, each time from a slightly different angle.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
