Start doing GBR: materials, flap design, a pig-jaw rehearsal and three filmed ridge augmentations in 48 short lessons
Prosthodontist Ivan Chicchon and periodontist David Wong designed Guided Bone Regeneration as a direct entry point for dentists adding bone grafting around implants. The 3 h 09 min course is chopped into 48 brief, easy-to-revisit clips across nine modules — tools and materials, defect classification, flaps, a pig-jaw demonstration, two patient surgeries, complications and implant timing.

What you’ll be able to do
- Choose the bone graft, membrane and suture for a given defect
- Classify ridge defects with the Seibert system and related schemes
- Design classic, modified and papilla flaps
- Perform cortical perforation, releasing incisions and membrane fixation
- Recognise early GBR complications such as incision line opening and infection
- Judge when a grafted site is ready for implant placement
Inside the course
Armamentarium and planning
The first modules introduce the instruments, graft and membrane types and suture choices, then show how defect classification drives the surgical plan.
Rehearsal on a pig jaw
Eight clips walk through the full sequence on an animal model — perforating cortex, raising the flap, placing graft, releasing and securing the membrane, and closing.
Two real patient cases
A posterior site at tooth #30 and an anterior ridge augmentation repeat those steps on patients, so you see how technique adapts to live tissue and different locations.
When things go wrong
A short complications module covers pressure on the graft, wound dehiscence, infection and early suture loss, followed by guidance on implant timing and a closing discussion.

Before you buy
How detailed can three hours of GBR be?
Most clips run a few minutes, so expect a practical overview of the steps rather than in-depth literature review; the complications and implant-timing modules are very short.
Does it include vertical augmentation or sinus lifts?
No, the cases shown are ridge augmentations with graft and membrane; sinus procedures are not covered.
Is live patient surgery shown?
Yes, two patient procedures are filmed in addition to the pig-jaw model.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
