FP-1 results without pink porcelain: Ramon Gómez Meda combines mucogingival surgery with immediate loading
Periodontist and implantologist Ramon Gómez Meda shows in Perio-Prosthetic Approach for FP-1 Rehabilitations how soft tissue grafting, socket preservation and guided immediate implants can produce tooth-only prostheses where an FP-2 or FP-3 design once seemed unavoidable. The course runs 9 h 15 min across 7 modules and 21 lectures, illustrated with narrated step-by-step clinical clips.

What you’ll be able to do
- Prevent recession, collapse and scarring around the implant emergence profile
- Decide when a connective tissue or epithelial graft is needed, and how large it should be
- Preserve type I, II and III extraction sockets with mucogingival techniques
- Place immediately loaded implants in inflamed or infected sockets with simultaneous reconstruction
- Plan implant and graft position with guided surgery software and printed guides
- Deliver full-arch FP-1 prostheses using a triple-scan workflow
Inside the course
Avoiding esthetic failure
After a short introduction, the first long module classifies implant complications and links emergence profile to implant position. Orthodontically guided placement and predictable papilla reconstruction are presented as the main preventive tools, even in periodontal patients.
Soft tissue and socket management
Gómez Meda demonstrates graft harvesting, contact-point-to-crest distances, keratinised tissue augmentation and newer biomaterials, then explains why some ridge resorption always occurs and how to stabilise and de-epithelialise the socket to limit it.
Immediate loading and planning
Timing options from immediate to fully healed are compared, with alveolar reconstruction and biocollagen placed during the same visit. The planning module covers temporary composite abutments, CAD/CAM healing abutments and sending an STL guide file to the practice.
Full arches
The final two-hour module applies the concept to upper and lower full-arch cases, discussing the implant design, guided kit and digital wax-up needed to start. Gómez Meda directs a master’s programme in oral implantology at Alfonso X University in Madrid.
