PRF explained by Richard Miron: clinical uses, growth-factor biology and why horizontal centrifugation matters
Dentist and cell biologist Richard Miron, developer of the Bio-PRF system, uses Regenerative Dentistry. PRF in Clinical Practice to connect platelet-rich fibrin biology with chairside results. Six lessons in just under three hours cover recession, intrabony defects, extraction sockets, implants, sinus lifts and wound healing, then the science of spin speed, G-force, tube volume and fixed-angle versus horizontal centrifuges.
- 6lessons
- 2 h 55 minof video
- 3Bio-PRF protocols
What you’ll be able to do
- Use PRF in recession coverage, intrabony defects and socket healing
- Add PRF to implant placement and sinus augmentation
- Describe the roles of VEGF, PDGF and TGF-β released from the fibrin clot
- Prepare i-PRF and C-PRF and know when each suits
- Choose between fixed-angle and horizontal centrifuges and set speed and time
- Account for age, sex and processing time when harvesting
Inside the course
Where PRF helps clinically
The hour-long opener tours applications from connective tissue harvesting alternatives and gingival recession to bone defects, extraction sites, implant and sinus surgery, wound care and Bio-PRF grafts, with clinical cases.
The biology underneath
Miron explains growth factors, preparation methods and harvesting technique, reviews the research literature, and shows how patient age, sex and timing change the product.
Centrifugation in detail
Four shorter lessons trace PRF’s evolution to low-speed concepts, set out the 1:1000 rule for separating white and red cells, show a brief side-by-side demonstration of two centrifuge types, and compare 10 ml and 13 ml tubes and the 100–1000 g protocols.
Built for
- Periodontists and implant surgeonsA research-backed basis for adding PRF to grafting and surgery.
- Dentists buying a centrifugeClear reasoning on horizontal versus fixed-angle designs.
- Clinicians already using PRFA chance to tune protocols for better platelet yield.

Before you buy
Is the centrifuge demonstration long?
No — the practical demo is about two minutes; the other centrifugation lessons are explanatory.
Does Miron promote his own system?
He developed Bio-PRF, and its three protocols appear in the final lesson, so expect some focus on that system.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
