A step-by-step corticotomy protocol for faster orthodontics — surgeon and orthodontist teach it together across 5 lessons
Surgeon Gurien Demiraqi and orthodontist Edlira Baruti Papa present Where Surgery Meets Orthodontics: The Baruti-Demiraqi Protocol, a 6 h 15 min course drawn from a decade of using their method with stable long-term results. Surgeons follow the corticotomy sequence from planning to execution; orthodontists learn to manage every major malocclusion in decorticated patients, shorten treatment, combine surgery with recession closure and keep complications low.

What you’ll be able to do
- Select suitable candidates for accelerated osteogenic orthodontics
- Perform the Baruti-Demiraqi surgical sequence with hard and soft tissue grafts
- Apply the regional acceleratory phenomenon to speed tooth movement
- Compare piezocision, micro-osteoperforation and flapless techniques
- Plan orthodontic mechanics for corticotomy patients across malocclusion types
- Recognise and manage grafting complications after surgery
Inside the course
Two viewpoints on corticotomy
Opening lessons set out the orthodontic and surgical rationale in turn — bone remodelling and RAP, patient selection and periodontal considerations, then the evolution of surgical approaches from classic osteotomy through selective alveolar decortication, PAOO and piezocision.
The protocol in full
The core lesson walks the Baruti-Demiraqi sequence end to end: CBCT-based planning, anaesthesia and sedation choices, hard and soft tissue augmentation with growth-factor concentrates and autogenous tooth graft, then structured postoperative and orthodontic follow-up.
Indications through real cases
Two lessons group clinical examples by problem — impacted teeth, arch expansion, canine retraction, space closure, open bite intrusion, anchorage control, resorption and deep bite — each mapped to the grafting variant used.
Who is teaching
Demiraqi holds a PhD in oral implantology and invented the “Sticky Tooth” graft material; Baruti Papa is an orthodontist and co-developer of the protocol, active in several European orthodontic bodies.
Built for
- Oral and maxillofacial surgeonsA sequenced, graft-supported corticotomy technique from planning to review.
- OrthodontistsHow to drive mechanics predictably once bone has been decorticated.
- Periodontally minded cliniciansCombining accelerated movement with soft and hard tissue gain.

Before you buy
Do I need to be both surgeon and orthodontist?
No. The course is split so surgeons and orthodontists each follow the part relevant to their role in the combined treatment.
Does it cover the grafting materials in detail?
Yes. It addresses allograft and autologous options, including growth-factor concentrates and autogenous tooth graft, with their indications.
Do I get CME credit or a certificate?
No. Clinicapedia provides the educational content only — no CME or CE credits, MOC points or certificates of completion are included with this product.
